Redención & The Boy Who Wanted to be a Robot || Thompson Street Opera
November 2022
Greg returned to Thompson Street Opera a third time to conduct a double bill of Johanny Navarro's Redención and Pedro Finisterra's The Boy Who Wanted to be a Robot. These chamber operas were performed in a black-box theatre space in Chicago.
Death of Ivan Ilych || Thompson Street Opera
September 2021
Greg returned to Thompson Street Opera for a more traditional staging of John Young's 2019 chamber opera based on Pushkin's short story of the same name. The production was mounted in an intimate black-box theatre space in Chicago.
Ghost Variations || Thompson Street Opera
May 2021
Greg conducted a filmed/virtual production of Tony Manfredonia's 2018 chamber opera Ghost Variations, about the final days of Robert Schumann. He rehearsed the chamber orchestra and recorded an audio track and visual "conductor cam" track, he prepared the singers to record their parts separately while singing along to the orchestra track and conductor cam video. This was done to avoid large gatherings and singing without masks in the early days of COVID vaccinations. The opera was filmed with intimate staging and released as a virtual opera.
Darkling || Third Eye Theatre Ensemble
October 2019
Greg conducted nine performance of Stefan Weisman's Darkling for Third Eye Theatre Ensemble. The opera, based on Anna Rabinowitz's book-length acrostic poem of the same name, is an artistic collaboration written for singers, actors, and mixed media. The atmospheric and visceral work centers upon a woman (Anna) who sifts through a box of old photographs and letters found in her late father’s closet. It recalls fragments of lives that were lost when their owners perished in the Holocaust, and, in the words of the poet herself, asks the viewer to consider stories that are “pleading to be flossed from the teeth of silence.”
Gianni Schicchi || Night of Italian Opera
March 2019
Greg conducted a concert performance of Puccini's Gianni Schicchi for a Night of Italian Opera fundraiser in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Proceeds went to benefit Shelter for All, a charity dedicated to housing the homeless and providing affordable housing in DuPage County.

As a part of CCM's summer opera program, Greg conducted half of Act I of Donizetti's comic opera, featuring Met Opera veteran Vernon Hartman in the title role, and sang
in the chorus. The rest of the cast and orchestra featured current CCM students.
Die Zauberflöte || Opera On Tap Phoenix

Stage director Timothy Nelson's six-singer interpretation of Die Zauberflöte featured Mozart's original music and new texts in English, French, Japanese, and America Sign Language.

Music Director, Lanfranco Marcelletti, in a masterclass including works by Beethoven, Dvorak, Debussy, Silvestre Revueltas, and Pablo Moncayo.

Janacek’s The Cunning Little Vixen and Rossini’s Armida.
